Getting discounts online has never been easier. All it takes is for you to consciously think about it before checking out. That’s it, really. It sounds easy, but it actually can be easier to forget than it is to remember. Unless there’s a big blaring “enter your discount here” box staring at you, you have a good chance of forgetting it.
Companies are getting smarter, and making that big blaring box a lot more incognito. Those boxes used to be huge and in your face, but now a lot of times they’re not a box at all. I’ve shopped at many places where the old-school box has been replaced with a text link. The link simply says something like “enter your code” or something of that nature. It’s easy to miss and can use verbiage that doesn’t trigger your spidey senses.
The Power is in Your Hands
Companies have to give in to the demand of the consumer, unless they have no competition. There aren’t very many industries without a healthy level of competition. Believe it or not, competition is actually at an all time high. Thanks to technology, new businesses are popping up every single day. Most of them will fail, of course, but only one or two need to succeed to create a healthy level of competition.
Look at Airbnb for example. They’ve challenged the hotel industry in a healthy way. Most people who tried to start a company like Airbnb failed miserably. But the one success upped the ante for a whole industry. Hotels are having to give their customers more for their money to lure them away from the much more affordable and comfortable Airbnb.
You know what this means for you? Discounts galore!
You Can Always Get A Discount
Thanks to the technological age, you don’t have to scrounge around, clipping sections out of the newspaper and waste 2 hours in order to save a few cents. Those days have come and gone. To save money on your next online shopping excursion, all you need to do is a quick search online or install Honey.
Using search engines to find deals is pretty easy. It only takes a minute or two and can save you a bundle of money. You will find sites like mine, that dedicate their entire existence to helping people save money. The Honey plugin is a little different and even easier to use.
To use it, just install it on your favorite browser. I know they have made an addon for Firefox and a version for Chrome. Both of them work excellently. After you have installed the plugin, you’ll find it pretty easy to use. They did a great job with the design and created a very intuitive user interface. It shows a number over the icon which indicates how many coupons it has found for a specific store.
When you get to the checkout page, you’ll be prompted to try the coupons. Click the button that gives honey the permission to try the coupons, and it’ll submit each and every coupon it has for the store. Once it’s tried all the coupons, it automatically selects the one that will give you the biggest discount. With a plugin like this, you don’t even have to search the internet anymore. It does all the hard work for you. That’s the beauty of technology.
